The Nevis to St. Kitts Cross Channel Swim in March 2026 welcomed 500 swimmers from 41 countries, plus one Olympic legend. Alice Dearing, who in 2021 became the first Black swimmer to represent Great Britain in the Olympics, led the field in her age group (20-29). Other finishers included 12-year olds Greyson Burrell and Saulo Sahely (St. Kitts and Nevis), and Skip Fear (St. Kitts and Nevis) and Richard Aikman (United States), the oldest finishers at age 80.
Dearing, noted as a global diversity advocate, is co-founder of the Black Swimming Association.
Overall winners of the 2.5-mile race were Craig Munden (Bermuda) – 56:14; Michel Heijnen (Netherlands) – 1:00:14; and Theo Estasse (France) – 1:01:01.
