Saint Lucia, April 22, 2026 — Sailors from around the world have completed an extraordinary 26,000-nautical-mile circumnavigation as the World ARC 2025-26 fleet arrived in Saint Lucia following a 15-month voyage across three oceans and more than 25 stopovers in 18 countries.
The rally concluded with several days of celebrations in Saint Lucia, culminating in a Parade of Sail from Marigot Bay through Castries Harbour to IGY Rodney Bay Marina, where crews crossed the finish line together.
A total of 35 boats participated in World ARC 2025-26, with 20 yachts completing the full circumnavigation. Others joined for partial legs of the journey, allowing sailors to extend their adventure over multiple seasons.
Participants described the finish as emotional and deeply rewarding. Alison Farmer, who sailed aboard Walrus, the smallest boat in the fleet, reflected on the achievement after 462 days at sea and crossings of three oceans.
Beyond the miles sailed, sailors highlighted the camaraderie built along the route. Jan Weustink, skipper of Mulan, praised the spirit of the fleet and the support provided throughout the rally.
The final prizegiving dinner recognized each vessel for unique contributions to the fleet, from technical support to enthusiasm in community events. Individual milestones were also honored, including veteran participants and returning circumnavigators.
Young sailors were celebrated as Junior Explorers, with eight children completing the full circumnavigation and several others joining for shorter stages. Organizers noted the educational and cultural benefits of experiencing the world by sea at a young age.
World Cruising Club Managing Director Paul Tetlow described the finish as the close of an epic adventure and a rare accomplishment in sailing, emphasizing both the scale of the voyage and the lasting friendships formed along the way.
The World ARC began in Saint Lucia on January 11, 2025, and returned on April 18, 2026, completing the fifteenth edition of the rally.
With crews now heading in different directions, the formal rally may be over — but the memories, friendships, and spirit of adventure continue.
