The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Sailing Association held its KGroup National Youth Championships 2026 at Calliaqua Bay, with seven races in the Optimist, ILCA 4 and ILCA 6 classes.
Twelve-year-old Nigel Tash won the Optimist championship, while 14-year-old Jordi Lewis took the ILCA 4 title. Kai Marks Dasent won the ILCA 6 championship, securing the title in the final race.
The championships followed a two-day World Sailing Judge Seminar conducted by international trainer Chris Watts. The seminar covered the Racing Rules of Sailing and protest procedures for sailors and officials.
The event was sponsored by KGroup, Kestrel Shipping, CG United Insurance, SG DeFreitus and Island Sipz.
The seminar and national championships form part of the sailing association’s efforts to develop young sailors and officials and prepare them for competition at regional and international levels.
