Revitalization of the Bequia Sailing Club “Rebuild, Strengthen and Expand”
Give thanks in all circumstances! The existing membership of the Bequia Sailing Club and the office of Grenadines Affairs/Bequia wish to assure the Bequia community and all its stakeholders of their unwavering commitment to revitalizing the Bequia Sailing Club.
Once achieved, the Club can return to being the Organising Authority for Bequia Easter Regatta 2025 and beyond, with a full complement of sailing activities, including CSAaccredited Yacht Races.
As many are no doubt aware, a combination of COVID, logistical challenges and the loss of key personnel/teams has meant that there has been no Yacht Racing component in the Bequia Easter Regatta for the past three years. Plans for revitalizing the Bequia Sailing Club aim to ensure the return of these CSA-accredited Yacht Races for Regatta 2025.
Accordingly, an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Bequia Sailing Club is announced for FRIDAY, APRIL 19, 2024, at the Bequia Anglican Primary School at 5
pm.
This EGM has been planned to ascertain the interest within the Bequia community in having the Regatta fully re-established for 2025.
With a good level of interest and commitment confirmed an agenda can then be set for an AGM of the Bequia Sailing Club at which a new Executive will be elected and other working Committees established as soon as possible to enable planning for Regatta 2025 to commence without delay. New ideas and input will be very welcome.
Sailing enthusiasts in Bequia, potential Sailing Club members, former Members, Life Members, and all stakeholders interested in being part of this initiative are invited to attend this Extraordinary General Meeting of the Bequia Sailing Club and become part of the rebuilding of Bequia’s world-famous Bequia Regatta.
