Dominica is inviting hikers, outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers to explore the island’s most secluded landscapes in May as the Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association (DHTA) launches HikeFest 2026, “Beyond the Beaten Path.”
The event offers guided access to hidden lakes, forest pools, ridgelines and waterfalls that fall well outside the usual visitor circuit. Organizers say the festival provides a structured way to experience Dominica’s terrain, with options ranging from short, easy walks to full‑day challenges.
The 2026 edition unfolds across five Saturdays in May, supported by additional mid‑week hikes that allow visitors to build short breaks or longer stays around multiple trail experiences. This year’s program includes early‑morning climbs and a night‑hiking option, expanding the range of ways participants can encounter Dominica’s rainforest and volcanic interior.
