ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands — The Northside Sportfishing Club’s annual Bastille Day Kingfish Tournament returns to St. Thomas on Sunday, July 12, bringing together anglers, families and visitors for one of the U.S. Virgin Islands’ most beloved summer traditions.
The tournament will conclude with a community celebration at The Shack at The Hideaway in Hull Bay from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The celebration will feature a fish weigh-in, awards ceremony, live music, a local fare buffet, four bars, a kids’ corner with crafts and face painting, and more.
First organized in 1988, the Bastille Day Kingfish Tournament is the largest inshore small boat fishing tournament in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Since its inception, the event has welcomed generations of anglers while raising more than $230,000 for local organizations, including Joseph Sibilly Elementary School, Nana Baby Children’s Home and St. Thomas Rescue.
In addition to hosting the celebration, The Hideaway will donate all proceeds from the day’s festivities at The Shack to the Northside Sportfishing Club, further supporting the organization’s longstanding commitment to the St. Thomas community.
