One of the biggest misconceptions about yacht chartering is that it’s only for ultra-wealthy travelers. In reality, charter pricing varies enormously depending on boat type, season, destination, and level of service.

Here are some very general weekly starting ranges:

• Bareboat monohull: approximately $3,000–$7,000/week
• Bareboat catamaran: approximately $5,000–$15,000+/week
• Skippered charter: typically adds $1,500–$2,500/week for captain services
• Crewed catamaran charter: approximately $12,000–$40,000+/week
• Luxury motor yacht or superyacht: can range well into six figures per week

Importantly, yacht pricing is typically quoted per boat, not per person, making charters surprisingly competitive for groups or families traveling together.

Seasonality also matters. Christmas/New Year and peak winter weeks are generally the most expensive, while shoulder seasons can offer excellent value and fewer crowds.
